The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 Trailer

Lionsgate have released the first trailer for the final movie in the Hunger Games franchise: The Hunger Game: Mockingjay – Part 2.

Based on the best selling novels by Suzanne Collins, the movie once again stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne MoorePhilip Seymour Hoffman and is directed by Francis Lawrence, this is last movie brings a close to the epic journey that started in 2012.

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to liberate the citizens of Panem, and stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

If you have been following the series you will know that this is the showdown that has been built up over 3 years and 3 previous movies. Donald Sutherland plays the ultimate evil dictator with unlimited resources and a skill in manipulation. Endlessly tormenting Katniss, placing her in impossible moral decisions, she comes out on top and is now in a position to take the fight to him.

As a fan of the books and the previous movies, I am really looking forward to seeing this final film, it promises to be full of action as the story draws to a climactic war with the capitol but also full of drama as Katniss battles with herself over the guilt of placing the ones she loves in the firing line.
