Star Trek Beyond Trailer 2

Paramount Pictures has released the second trailer for the upcoming movie Star Trek Beyond. This new trailer gives us a better look at the villain of the movie, played by Idris Elba and a lot more action including the attack on the Enterprise which forces the crew to abandon ship.

No official plot description has been released but wikipedia has the following:

After stopping off at Starbase Earhart, a remote outpost on the fringes of Federation space, the USS Enterprise, two years into their five-year mission is heavily attacked by a powerful wave of unknown aliens and the crew are forced to abandon ship. With the crew stranded on a unknown planet and with no apparent means of rescue, they find themselves in conflict with a new ruthless enemy who has a well-earned hatred of the Federation and what it stands for.

Directed by Justin Lin (Fast and Furious 5&6), written by Simon Pegg (with help from a few others), the movie also stars all the actors from the first two reboot movies (Karl UrbanChris PineZoe SaldanaZachary QuintoSimon Pegg). Star Trek Beyond is looking to build on the success of the first two Star Trek movies and is shaping up to be an action packed but faithful recreation of the original magic of Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek.

This year has been a roller-coaster ride of epic superhero movies, it will be refreshing to geek out on some classic sci-fi space battles. The effects look great, the action will be dialed up to 11 and with Simon Pegg (who is one of the greatest Sci-fi nerds around) in charge of the story, we will be in for some serious entertainment.

Hitting cinemas July 22, strap in, shields up, set phasers to stun and check out the Star Trek Beyond Trailer 2.
